Movie Shoot at Work!

Here’s something a little different. I shared this on my Facebook page, but thought I would include it on WordPress. I’ll just reprint my Facebook post:

A cool day here at the ministry headquarters of Zion’s Hope in Old Winter Garden, Florida (just outside of Orlando). A new TV show based on the book and movie “The Right Stuff” is being filmed in Florida, and today the crew is here. Plant Street, just outside our window, is being turned into the early 1960s. The show is about the early days of the space program. Leonardo DiCaprio is the Executive Producer. Pictured are the film crew and various 1960s autos. That Schneider’s Toy Shop is fictional; a local business rented out its building for the shoot. We also have some of the actors dressed in their 1960s garb.

Filming moved 2 blocks down where I got these shots during my lunch break. Various busy set shots, some old 1960s vehicles, a street scene, and actors waiting for the cameras to roll. (This is supposed to be a winter scene. Notice the “snow” on the bluish-green car and the actors in heavy coats. Poor guys, it’s 87 degrees today [30 degrees celsius]!)
