No Mistake!
Make no mistake about it: Your salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ is no accident! In other words, you did not come to Christ on your own, but God chose you before the beginning of creation to be His (Ephesians 1:4).

Theology aside, think about that last phrase, “God chose you before the beginning of creation to be His.” Let that sink in. Mull over it a while. Allow it to percolate in your soul for a spell. Permit its truth to warm your heart and strengthen your spirit.

God called you! He chose you! He called and chose you to be redeemed by the blood of Christ, to have fellowship with your Savior all the days of your life here on Earth, and then to live with Him eternally when this life is over (John 14:1-6).

Below are several “you have been called by God” verses just to confirm the fact that God has indeed selected you to be His, and some of the glorious riches which go with your calling.

“Called Verses”
He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 2:14).

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called” (Ephesians 4:4).

“God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy’” (1 Peter 1:15-16).

Election pinned on noticeboard

“Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 10-11).

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

“For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps” (1 Peter 2:20-22).

“After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you” (1 Peter 5:10).

“Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ” (Jude 1).

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified” (Romans 8:29-30).

Rejoice!
May you rejoice in these wondrous truths and may they be a tonic to your soul in these immensely challenging and difficult days!
