Something Special
For blog No. 700, I wanted to do something short but special, and could think of nothing better than to share our glorious Gospel.

Here are the basics:

1. We are all sinners. Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

2. There are consequences for being a sinner. Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death …” The word “death” here does not refer to physical death since all people die. “Death” refers to eternal separation from God in Hell.

3. We cannot save ourselves from Hell. Ephesians 2:8-9: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Individuals cannot “earn” their way into Heaven. Salvation is through Christ only.

4. Jesus paid the penalty for us. Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus died for us while we were perishing in our sins.

5. We must confess Christ as Lord and receive Him as our Savior. Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Confessing Christ must be in league with believing in Him. Many people confess, but don’t truly believe.

6. The permanence of salvation. John 5:24: “Very truly I [Jesus] tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” Notice the certainty here. According to Jesus, if you believe in Him, you ARE saved! The believer once destined to eternal damnation has now “crossed over” into eternal life. A truly saved individual cannot “lose” salvation; salvation is eternal.

2 Additional Crucial Truths

 1. Jesus Christ is God. John 10:30: “I [Jesus] and the Father are one.”

2. Jesus Christ is the Only Way to Salvation. John 14:6: “I [Jesus] am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Acts 4:12: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name [Christ’s] under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Praise God for the glorious Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
