A Frequent Phrase
We have heard the phrase frequently, mostly in movies and TV shows: “There are many paths to God.”
As Christians, we grimace when we hear this phrase, because it implies there are many gods. This is probably how Hollywood intends it when they use it as often as they do.
However, from a different perspective, the phrase is true. If talking about the God of the Bible – the True God of Heaven and Earth – there are numerous and countless paths to Him. My path to God came through Judaism. Other paths have come from bad religious experiences, bad life experiences, or just having one’s eyes open to the reality of Almighty God.

So yes, it IS true: There ARE many paths to God!
The Real Issue
However, the real issue is not that there are many paths to God, but that there is but one way to SALVATION:
- “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’” (John 14:6).
- “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name [Jesus] under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
- “… if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
- “He who believes in the Son has eternal life. He who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him” (John 3:36).
- “To him [Jesus] all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name” (Acts 10:43).
- “There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).
- “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” (John 17:23).
- “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life, and whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:11-12).
Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation regardless of the path you take to Him! A basic, but always necessary, reminder in these heretical days!

True, David! Everyone who comes to Christ has an encounter with Him that is as unique as they are. (He is the same, but He created us all different.)

Excellent, David. There is a pseudo-Christian denomination that agrees that, yes, “faith” in Jesus Christ as Savior is the ONLY way to salvation, but then qualifies that by dichotomously insisting that God’s grace is shed upon all mankind and that practicing Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, and even atheists are also able to “merit” salvation through Christ’s redemptive work.
