It appears the fight is going to last quite a while. It also appears as if Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States.
If so – if you are a President Trump supporter – resolve now that should he lose this election, you will do precisely what God has commanded you to do and pray for President Biden. Pray for his salvation, and that of his wife Jill. And yes, pray as well for his son Hunter.
Also, if Kamala Harris becomes our new Vice President, pray the same thing for her and her family.
Please, don’t give in to hatred and bitterness, but exalt the Word of God, which commands us:
- “First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
- “Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king” (1 Peter 2:17).
- “Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God” (Romans 13:1).
- “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper” (Jeremiah 29:7).
As Christians, our victory comes not in who wins the Presidency, but in that we honor our Lord and Savior by obeying His commands!

Amen. The USA is the country of my sojourn, but my citizenship is in heaven. We are truly living in Babylonian exile, and should see it that way, and behave accordingly. Those who focus on the establishment of an earthly kingdom in the name of Christ, by my estimation, have their focus misplaced and are building with wood, hay, and stubble. Of course, I vote in accordance with my conscience, but politics is a massive sink hole that many slip into. Perhaps a Biden win will cause believers with too much investment in politics to reconsider their focus and return to their first love.

As much as I love receiving complements, I believe it was the two of you (Craig and David) that really nailed it! 🙂

Wishing for the president to fail is kind of silly, and so many people did that in 2016. I don’t get it 😕 I hope that whoever fairly wins does a great job the next 4 years! God bless 🙂

I agree, Marisa. And for many of us, it will take resolve. I remember I “resolved” to pray for President Obama, and in the doing, the Lord gave me peace about it.

Good message, David! We pray for our political leaders, of all political persuasions, that they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior by faith alone, and that the Gospel can continue to go out unhindered.

I am numb from this whole experience. From media, to candidates responses, to voters responses. I am numb. I have no idea where as a divided nation where we go from here. What astounds me is that people refuse to see that we truly rise and fall together. It’s not an either/or situation. It’s a both/and. So yes, all this is to say that I am resolved to pray for our President regardless of who it is. It’s moments like these when I appreciate the Holy Spirit’s groaning on my behalf because all I can say is “Lord God have mercy on me a sinner.”

Amen! (You’re right, you did make a point similar to mine in a lot fewer words. 😉)
We should pray for our leaders, even the ones we didn’t choose. Yes, because God said to, but also because if we do, we will stand out like stars against a black sky, and previously ignored testimonies might begin to be heard at last
But wallow in the nastiness like everyone else, and expect to continue to be ignored.

I too am brokenhearted for our country and the direction we are going in. When I have no words and right now I really don’t because I agree with someone else here: I am numb from all the awful stuff going on. So, when I have no words to express, I say: LORD, YOUR WILL BE DONE. I know OUR GOD IS IN CONTROL OF IT ALL. I will honor all HE chooses. May we all continue to lift one another too. Many of us need encouragement right now. Praying for our nation and for GOD to awaken hearts only for HIM!!

I agree with you, Maxine. So long as we recognize that it is the lord’s will which is being done, we can withstand anything.
