Christians, Resolve to Pray for Our (New?) President

It appears the fight is going to last quite a while. It also appears as if Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States.

If so – if you are a President Trump supporter – resolve now that should he lose this election, you will do precisely what God has commanded you to do and pray for President Biden. Pray for his salvation, and that of his wife Jill. And yes, pray as well for his son Hunter.

Also, if Kamala Harris becomes our new Vice President, pray the same thing for her and her family.

Please, don’t give in to hatred and bitterness, but exalt the Word of God, which commands us:

  • “First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
  • “Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king” (1 Peter 2:17).
  • “Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God” (Romans 13:1).
  • “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper” (Jeremiah 29:7).

As Christians, our victory comes not in who wins the Presidency, but in that we honor our Lord and Savior by obeying His commands!
