I want my first post of 2021 to proclaim this glorious truth. Jesus Christ is God, and the Savior of human souls. The New Testament is replete with proclamations of the lordship of Jesus Christ. Here is a sampling from every epistle which contains it at least once (emphasis added):

  • “And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all” (Acts 4:33).
  • “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
  • “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:3).
  • “For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants on account of Jesus” (2 Corinthians 4:5).
  • “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen” (Galatians 6:18).
  • “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3)
  • “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).
  • “We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you” (Colossians 1:3).
  • “To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace” (1 Thessalonians 1:1).
  • “… so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, in accordance with the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 2:12).
  • “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service” (1 Timothy 1:12).
  • “To Timothy, my beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord” (2 Timothy 1:2).
  • “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit” (Philemon 1:25).
  • “My brothers and sisters, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism” (James 2:1).
  • “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).
  • “For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they do not make you useless nor unproductive in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:8).
  • “… keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life” (Jude 1:21).
  • “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).

And finally, this wish to you for 2021 from 1 Corinthians 16:23: “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you!”
