My Prayer for President Trump

A Successful Term
As President Trump leaves office, I believe his 4-year term was both eventful and successful. His policies have benefited America, and he acted boldly in fighting for and getting them enacted. I believe his top 3 accomplishments are:

  • Appointing 3 Supreme Court judges, as well as nominating and confirming 230 federal judges.
  • Moving the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as well has staunchly supporting Israel, our longtime ally.
  • Most importantly, his advocacy for religious freedom, especially upholding the rights of Christians.

On the other end of the spectrum, there was the problem of President Trump’s behavior and demeanor. I believe he hurt himself by his conduct, which all too often was well below the standards of a world leader. His demeaning language and “if they hit me, I’m going to hit back twice as hard” nature soured many people on him, longtime Republicans included.

But most of all, though fellow evangelicals argue in favor of it, I in no way believe President Trump is a born-again believer. Nothing in his behavior even hints at it.

My Prayer
So with this in mind, and with gratitude for the fine work he did while in office, my prayer for President Trump is the greatest prayer that can be lifted up for anyone.

I pray that President Trump will embrace Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. I pray he will get down on his knees, confess his sins, repent, and “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and … be saved” (Acts 16:31).

I pray he will become a “new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17) in Christ, and be changed from the inside out.

So, Mr. President, thank you for all you’ve done for the U.S., and may God bring you to a new and saving knowledge of Him!
