Israel’s Green Pass Madness

What Is It?
In Israel, Green Pass madness has set in.

Officially, the Green Pass confirms that you have received the Covid-19 vaccination, or have had Covid-19 and recovered from it. That’s for now. But no doubt about it – very soon the Green Pass will be issued ONLY to those who have been vaccinated.

The Green Pass is required to enter places that comply with the Green Pass restrictions. Here presently in the U.S., few places are requiring it. However, throughout the world, the Green Pass is speedily and overwhelmingly being required.

Embracing the Green Pass
The nation foremost in embracing the Green Pass is Israel, and is doing so in draconic fashion.

I work for Zion’s Hope, Inc., a Christian ministry to the Jewish people. As such, we have on staff several missionaries based in Jerusalem, all of whom I keep contact with. I recently spoke with our director of field operations in Israel, and he shared this:

“To do just about anything indoors, Israelis must be vaccinated, and everyone must have the Green Pass (proof of vaccination or negative PCR [swab] test). Without a Green Pass, you cannot go into restaurants, movie theaters, or gyms. The bottom line is that if you are not vaccinated, you pretty much cannot do anything.”

He added:

“For those of us who are unvaccinated, life is difficult. It’s like trying to maneuver through an obstacle course. Life is much easier for the vaccinated, but for the unvaccinated, we are living under discriminating laws. We can’t eat in public, we can’t visit our houses of prayer, we can’t visit our doctors, and we can’t even attend weddings.”

Growing Madness
That was of a few weeks back. More recently he experienced more madness.

One of his outreaches includes helping the elderly. He took an elderly woman shopping, filling her shopping bag to the brim. It was heavy, therefore he accompanied her to her apartment building and was going to carry the bag up several flights of stairs and deposit the bag safely on her kitchen table.

However, when reaching the lobby, an armed guard stopped him and asked if he had a Green Pass. When he said “no,” the guard – rather than calmly telling him he would not be permitted to go any further – shouted at him, saying: “If you don’t have the Green Pass, you must leave immediately.” He then turned his hip to indicate he had a gun. No rational discussion, no common courtesy – a fitting example of the madness gripping that nation.

Keep in mind several things:

1. My friend was showing kindness to a needy individual.

2. He posed absolutely no threat to anyone.

3. This is Israel, considered the world’s purest democracy.

The Takeaway
So, what should we take away from the happenings in Israel.

First, Israel itself. Keep in mind that though God most certainly will fulfill all of His Old Testament promises to the REMNANT of the Jewish people, there is still a cleansing His Chosen People must endure (Zechariah 13:1-9). Before that, Israel will launch the next event on God’s end-times timetable: the signing of a 7-year covenant with the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27). This will initiate the 70th Week of the Book of Daniel – the final 7 years of this era of human history.

Second, what is happening in Israel now will spread throughout the world very soon. Israel is at the forefront of Covid-19 and vaccination mandates. (And by the way, I am not against the vaccine; I received mine back in March and April.) Our missionary said, “Life is much easier for the vaccinated, but for the unvaccinated, we are living under discriminating laws.” Exactly. Soon, society will be divided between the vaxxed and the unvaxxed. And it will be ugly.

Third, all of this is leading to the eventual rise of the Antichrist. There will come a day when he will require the world to pledge allegiance to him – and him alone. To prove allegiance, people will be forced to take his “mark … on their right hands or on their foreheads, and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark” (Revelation 13:16-17). What we’re seeing now is NOT the mark of the beast, but could be an indication of how the pressure to receive the mark will play itself out. (Read my blog: “Covid-19 and the Mark of the Beast.”)

Keep Focused
Despite all this, please remember: If you are a follower of the Lord Jesus, you are safe in His arms. Your body may be harmed, but your soul – your eternal salvation – is secure. And, never forget, you have your own mandate. My missionary colleague concluded:

“I can’t change the situation here in Israel; it’s not my job to do that. My job is to preach the Gospel. Whether it’s in the church, in the street, to my family or to my neighbors, preaching the Gospel is my focus. Whether individuals want to get vaccinated or not, that’s their business. My business and my calling here on Earth is to preach the Gospel and serve my community and church.”

May all who bow the knee to the Lord Jesus Christ be found faithful in sharing His glorious Gospel with a lost and dying world!
