As our world continues to spin more and more out of control and the return of Christ draws ever nearer, a multitude of changes will occur at a dizzying rate. In fact, this is already the case.
Shameless cultural beliefs and behavior which would have been reproached a generation ago are now the accepted norms. Who knows what our world will look like a decade from now!
But despite all that will befall our planet – and especially believers in Christ – it is both wonderful and assuring to know that our God is eternal, unchanging, and enduring. Let these words from Psalm 119:89-91 bring you comfort and confidence this day.
Your word, Lord, is eternal;
it stands in the heavens.
Your faithfulness continues through all generations;
you established the earth, and it endures.
Your laws endure to this day,
For all things serve you.
Amen, and come soon, Lord Jesus!

“Who knows what our world will look like a decade from now!” A decade! Who knows what THIS year will bring!
I’m with you David, even mentioned these things not 5 minutes ago with a sister. Whats worse by far is the perversity that’s crept into the church. Dishonoring and slandering God is the worst, fearless crime.
I know this sounds weird, but every night I get into bed I say to myself, “another day gone, one day closer to seeing my Lord”.
I just pray for more of the Holy Spirit. Brother, may we never fizzle out but stand bold for the truth and contend for souls!

I’m with you all the way, Lisa Bet — especially about, “another day gone, one day closer to seeing my Lord.”
Let’s continue forging on for Him!

Psalm 119 has a special place in my heart. Only as we read the Word can we be comforted and confident in God’s Promises. Too many people want to listen to podcasts or sermons and read blogs/articles of other folks teaching/preaching the Word rather than hearing/reading it for themselves. This is such a tragedy! Now more than ever should we be a people who read the Word, memorizing/meditating on it and taking it heart. I truly think the reason why we have so many scared, fearful and impotent/ineffective believers today is because they do not want to read the Word and apply what it says. The Lord’s Law (Word) does indeed bring life and not death. I am thankful for people like yourself who point people to Christ and His Word!

Spot on to everything you said, Mandy. Or, to put in the Christian vernacular, Amen!

Thanks, David! Exhortations to “stand firm in Christ” as the culture crumbles around us help keep us focused.
