A Blessed Weekend

Sometimes I feel the overwhelming need to publicly thank the Lord for His wonderful blessings.

The beautiful Grand Floridian Resort

And this gorgeous weekend here in my home city of Orlando, Florida, was one of them. The skies were a stunning, cloudless blue, and the temperature topped out at a breezy 75 degrees. By Florida standards, it was dry as the usual humidity took the weekend off. Better weather could hot have been had!

On Saturday, I spent the day with a dear friend who is getting ready to embark upon a 3-month missionary outreach in France. This daughter-in-the-Lord absolutely loves Disney’s spectacular Grand Floridian Resort, which according to Wikipedia, “was inspired by the Victorian era beach resorts built along Florida’s east coast during the late 19th century and early 20th century.”

The Grand Floridian is lavish, elegant, and beautiful, and it was a joy for me to bid farewell to my friend in style! (More pictures below.)

I couldn’t keep a straight face with Zac displaying his gummy worms in such a distinctive way!

The next day, Sunday, I spent 11 hours with my beloved (and only) grandchild, Zac. We had a wonderful time together, as usual.

I am especially blessed that my only child, Aaron, also makes the Orlando area his home, and that I can consistently spend at least one of the weekend days with him, Zac, and my wonderful daughter-in-law Kati.

Why the Lord has blessed me so abundantly I have no idea, but to allow such a weekend pass without giving Him glory and gratitude would be a crime.

I hope you enjoy the pictures, and thank you, Lord, for this blessed weekend You have granted me!

I hope you can make this out. The late-afternoon sun was at an unusual angle and cast these freaky shadows of Zac and me. I always wanted long legs, but this is ridiculous!
