Differing Fates: Which One Will Be Yours?

I don’t reblog often, but this one by my former boss and mentor Marv Rosenthal is brilliant. Marv went home to the Lord a little more than a year ago at age 86. However, he left behind hundreds of insightful and life-changing articles.

The one with the above title begins this way:

Day of Reckoning
Every human being faces a day of reckoning. That day will come when we must appear before God in judgment. We either face Him wearing the “dirty robes” of our own non-existent goodness, or in pristine white robes given us at salvation.

These “robes” are metaphoric; they represent our sin. If we have not accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we face God in our sin. As such, we will spend eternity in condemnation in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14-15).

If we have accepted Jesus’ free gift of salvation, we have “clothed” ourselves in Christ’s righteousness, meaning our sin has been atoned for. As such, we will spend eternity with Christ is glory and bliss (Luke: 23:43; John 14:2; also see John 3:36).
